While a standard dose of 0.5 mg/kg ketamine infusion given over 40 minutes became the gold standard for research on ketamine use for non-anesthetic indications (KNAI), some researchers have explored with success using ketamine at higher doses.1 The dose is selected to optimize the PTR, aka the Psychotropic Therapeutic Response, defined as the dose which achieves the optimum transpersonal and transformational experience.

At the Kilauea Ketamine Clinic, the high dose ketamine protocol titrated to PTR is performed within a shamanic setting, using planetary frequencies from the acutonics tuning fork system (www.acutonics.com) applied to traditional chinese medicine acupuncture points as a way to mobilize chi, deliver specific resonance, and optimize prayer and intentions during the ketamine treatment session.
